Beginning with his success in Europe, he came to America and his popularity exploded after the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival.  Hendrix headlined the Woodstock Festival of 1969 and continues to be a striking influence on Rock Music to this day.

A master showman, Hendrix was known to play the guitar with his teeth, behind his back, while lying on the floor and just about any way he could think of.  He would often set his guitar on fire by pouring lighter fluid on it as somewhat of a symbolic sacrifice.

Hendrix also loved to explore feedback and its different textures by holding the guitar close to the amp at different angles to enhance feedback and sustain.

With tons of richness on the high and low strings both, nice airy, hollow sound on the neck pickup and rich leads on the bridge you have a wide variety to work with.

This guitar is really the only one that can give you that signature late 60s Hendrix-era sound. You can float the bridge or use all 5 springs to lock it down tight.

Pick a nice classic amp to play it through and you probably won't need any effects pedals - or very minimal.

Along with his band Double Trouble he took the Texas blues world by storm and eventually became recognized as one of the greatest guitarists of our time. In 2003, Rolling Stone magazine ranked Stevie Ray Vaughan #7 in its list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.

Stevie's 'Number One' was a 1959 Strat body with a '62 neck that he played through most of his career and on all 6 albums. Just before his death in 1990 Fender custom shops collaborated with Vaughan to produce a signature Stratocaster. The resulting Stevie Ray Vaughan Strat features an early ’60s “oval” neck shape, pao ferro fingerboard with jumbo frets, three Fender Texas Special™ single-coil pickups, gold-plated hardware, inverted left-hand vintage tremolo unit and distinctive “SRV” pickguard.
